What Can I Make with Cricut Party Foil?
Mostly used for confetti, party decor, or table scatter, party foil is a super fun material that doesn't get enough love! To get you introduced for the most successful makes, party foil is a very slippery material, so we recommend using the StrongGrip mat for your cuts. You can use your hands or a brayer to stick the party foil to your mat, but be prepared to keep an eye on your project as it cuts with your machine just in case it needs a little rub while cutting. This material also will show fingerprints, but use your fingers or anti-static cloth to rub the smudges away! Just avoid any scratchy fabrics so you don't get any unwanted marks.
How to Make Chic Cupcake Toppers with Cricut Party Foil
Difficulty Level: Easy
PROJECT MATERIALS
• Our Cricut Design Space project that you can click and make without any changes!
• Gold party foil
• Electronic cutting machine (e.g., Cricut)
• 12×12 StrongGrip cutting mat
• Toothpicks
• Mini glue dots
• Brayer (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open Cricut Design Space (or your digital cutting machine software) and start a New Project to make your own or use our ready made Design Space Project for your crafting. Resize to your cupcake size or preference. Ours were 2.5" wide.
2. Place the amount of party foil you need on your StrongGrip cutting mat and let your machine do the work! Remember to rub the foil onto the mat with your fingers or brayer to make sure it doesn't lift while it's being cut. Once your words are cut, carefully peel the toppers away from the mat.
3. Now that you have your toppers cut, place one toothpick on one of your glue dots. Carefully roll the toothpick across the glue dot, so it makes like a little toothpick burrito, and then adhere the glue dot-covered toothpick to the back bottom of your party foil cut-out!
4. Gently place your toppers into your desserts and have a great Galentine's Day with your ladies! Don’t let those extra hearts go to waste! Use the inner heart cut-outs as party table scatter on your table for a super cute centerpiece around your treats!
