When it came time to plan their wedding day, these two lovebirds wanted a celebration grounded in love and family. Instead of opting for a big, traditional wedding venue with all of the trimmings, Meg and Christine decided to rent a big beach house in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach and spend a week vacationing with the people they loved most. As a gay couple, the brides mentioned that acceptance of family and friends is, sadly, never a given, so the fact that they were surrounded with so much love and support on their wedding is beautiful in of itself, especially because their loved ones wanted to contribute more to their wedding celebration beyond just showing up and sitting in the audience. Through DIY florals, stationery, wedding cake, family and friends gave a bit of themselves as they used their talents to celebrate Meg and Christine. Even their gorgeously geometric ceremony arch was created by Meg herself!
Photographed by Flit Photography, Christine looked dapper in her monochromatic three-piece white suit which complemented the sandy shores while their bridal party was in relaxed attire meant for the oceanview. The brides' puppers, Carma and Charlie, even made cameos while getting ready and on top of the semi-naked wedding cake! From barefoot bridal sandals to a romantic sparkler exit, Christine and Meg's wedding day gives us all a reminder of what truly matters when saying I Do. Just love in its most simple and joyful form surrounded by those who make life a little brighter.
