The Best Way to Start the New Year? With a Wedding, of Course!

What better way to ring in the New Year than with the party of a lifetime – a wedding day! Megan and Matthew celebrated the start of the new year in the heart of downtown Richmond, beginning at the historic Monumental Church and ending the night at The Training Center at Bon Secours (aka the swanky reception venue!). Starry Night Events brought the magic with black and gold details that made the bride and groom shine all night long, celebrating new chapters with champagne toasts, raw oyster bar, and gilded florals.

It took awhile for sparks to fly after Matthew and Megan met... in fact, they were friends for almost a decade before they began to look at each other just a little differently. Once they took the plunge from friendship to romance, the rest is history, and a longtime friendship eventually became the New Year's Eve wedding of a lifetime. In the midst of the celebration, the couple made sure to keep what's most important at the forefront – Matthew’s cufflinks bore the name of his two sweet daughters, and Megan's walk down the aisle with her father tugged at our heartstrings.

Sarah & Dave Photography captured this midnight romance, and the only thing that could finish this perfect day – and the entire year! – was a New Year's kiss shared between the newlyweds.
