On a crisp fall day at the age of 22, Daniel picked me up in his white Toyota Tacoma, wearing a suit and holding a rose. He took me to the same lake where he taught me how to skip rocks 3 years prior, and we sat and talked about our past and future. He then drove me to the University of Virginia grounds, where he sent me on a scavenger hunt, picking up clues taped to a rose every step of the way. The clues were correlated to different locations meaningful to us during our undergraduate years, such as "the place where I would bring you late night takeout while you studied for finals." When I reached the end, the last clue said "the place where I will ask you to spend the rest of your life with me." Daniel led me to a white archway that he built shaded by a row of trees. At that point, I was crying too hard to hear or remember much of what he said, but he got down on his knee, and I was finally able to compose myself enough to say "of course."
With Taylor's long flowing white lace and chiffon dress and Daniel's dapper ensemble, they complemented the gardens' natural textures and beauty. You can tell by their quiet moments together that they have a long history between them, and that story will only grow more beautifully beyond their upcoming wedding day.
