How to Make Personalized Bachelorette Party Fanny Packs
Difficulty Level: Easy
Color Inspiration: Bold Multi-Colored, Gold, Black, and White
PROJECT MATERIALS
• Computer/Laptop/Mobile Phone
• Cricut Explore Air 2 Martha Stewart Edition only available at Michaels Stores
• Cricut 12"x12" StandardGrip Cutting Mat
• Cricut EasyPress 2 and EasyPress Mat Martha Stewart Edition
• Cricut Martha Stewart gold foil iron-on from Gala Rose Mixed Materials bundle
• White nylon fanny pack
• Black nylon fanny pack
• Cricut 12"x"12" EasyPress Mat (if you already have a different EasyPress)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Set out all of your materials and prep your computer, laptop, or mobile phone to connect with your Cricut Explore Air 2 machine.
2. Go to Cricut Design Space, open a New Project, and find a font from your computer or Cricut's library to use for your preferred wedding party words: bride, bridesmaid, bridesman, groom, groomslady, et cetera.
3. Measure your fanny pack's front pocket to see how long you want to make your word. Ours are 5" wide so it's centered and in proportion.
4. Using your StandardGrip Cutting Mat, place one sheet of your gold foil iron-on *shiny gold side down* on the mat and smooth so there are no bubbles. Be sure to click "Mirror On" before continuing as your words need to be "flipped" to iron-on properly. Then on your Explore Air 2 machine, turn the material dial to "Iron-On."
5. In Cricut Design Space, click the green "Make It" button and watch your cut come to life!
FUN FACT: Considering the Cricut Explore Air 2 Martha Stewart Edition for your wedding DIYs? This special bundle includes a bunch of awesome things for your special day specifically. Not only will you get the usual free trial membership to Cricut, but you'll also receive 25 Free Ready to Make Martha Stewart Wedding Projects along with the lovely Martha Stewart Basic Tool Set as mentioned above. These projects range from wedding shoe decals to reception signage to ceremony decor in the iconic Martha style you love. We're kinda obsessed!
6. Once your words are cut, carefully weed and peel the "extra" bits so only your gold foil word remains on the plastic iron-on film.
7. Fold your EasyPress Mat or towel to fit snugly inside of your pack's front pocket. This provides a good base for your iron-on and helps protect the rest of your nylon waist bag.
8. Using the special Martha Stewart edition EasyPress or an iron, follow the below heat settings for your situation.
HEAT SETTINGS FOR A NYLON FANNY PACK
• When using an EasyPress AND EasyPress mat, you will want to set your machine to 255°F for 30 seconds.
• When using an EasyPress with a towel, you will want to set your machine to 285°F for 30 seconds.
Both will require light pressure and a COLD peel. This means you need to wait until the plastic iron-on film is cool to the touch before peeling off of your fanny pack.
If you have any other scenarios with an EasyPress or regular household iron, please refer to the official Cricut EasyPress Heat Guide or its Foil Iron-On Instructions for the exact temperatures and duration. Nylon can be easily meltable, so be sure to find the correct settings!
9. Repeat above steps for each bag you're creating. And then it's time to party!
