INSTRUCTIONS
1. Set out all of your materials and prep your computer, laptop, or mobile phone to connect with your Cricut Explore Air 2 machine.
2. Go to Cricut Design Space, open a New Project, and upload our AMOR food flag design. You'll need to "delete" the spaces in the flag that will be cut, so be sure to follow the guided directions in Design Space when uploaded.
HELPFUL TIP: In Cricut Design Space, you can alter the size of our "AMOR" design based on your project needs. Our flags were sized at 2.2" in width so that they would be the perfect size and proportion for our margarita glasses. Feel free to get creative with your own sizing or keep it as is in Design Space!
3. Using your LightGrip Cutting Mat (which is needed when you cut paper), place one sheet of your white cardstock on the mat and smooth so there are no bubbles. Then on your Explore Air 2 machine, turn the material dial to "Cardstock."
4. In Cricut Design Space, click the green "Make It" button and enter the number of Project Copies you want. This means your Cricut machine will cut out more than just one flag, so definitely don't skip this step for food flags! You'll need a lot for your wedding shower! If sized at 2.2", you can get 25 flags per sheet of 12x12 cardstock paper.
FUN FACT: Considering the Cricut Explore Air 2 Martha Stewart Edition for your wedding DIYs? This special bundle includes a bunch of awesome things for your special day specifically. Not only will you get the usual free trial membership to Cricut, but you'll also receive 25 Free Ready to Make Martha Stewart Wedding Projects along with the lovely Martha Stewart Basic Tool Set as mentioned above. These projects range from wedding shoe decals to reception signage to ceremony decor in the iconic Martha style you love. We're kinda obsessed!
5. Once your flags are cut, carefully peel them off of the cutting mat. You'll notice all of the leftover tidbits remaining on the mat, and you can take those off with your Cricut spatula tool. (Try to avoid using your fingertips as the oil from them can affect your mat over time.)
6. On your paper flag, fold the little tab on the left. This is what will wrap around your toothpick.
7. Using your tacky glue pen, draw a very small line of glue on the inside of the tab and slowly roll/wrap the tab around the top of your toothpick. Press for about 10 seconds to make sure it adheres quickly and securely. Set aside and repeat with the rest of your flags.
8. Allow to dry for a couple of hours before putting them in your food.
9. Now you're ready to have your own fiesta celebration! Place your flags in your appetizers, plant decor, or wherever else you want to spread the AMOR.

• 2 beefsteak tomatoes, diced
• 1 head of iceberg lettuce, shredded
• 2 stalks of green onions, chopped
• Shredded cheese as topping
• Sour cream as topping
• 1 bag of tortilla chips (the lime-flavored ones are especially good with this recipe!)
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
• Salsa
• Guacamole
• Corn
• Lime, squeezed
RECIPE SUPPLIES
• Margarita glasses
• Mixing spoons and scoop
• Kitchen knives
ALLERGEN NOTES
This recipe is gluten-free and vegetarian if prepared using these steps. Should you have a random chili/jalapeño pepper allergy like our editor-in-chief, use the bonus Homemade Taco Seasoning recipe below that is way better than something that comes in a packet!
DIRECTIONS
1. Mix together the refried beans and taco seasoning well. To soften beans for easier spreading, place in microwave for 30 seconds intervals. (For extra yumminess, sprinkle some shredded cheese into the refried bean mix, stir, and allow to melt in the microwave.)
2. Spread the taco bean mixture on the bottom of your margarita glass.
3. Layer sour cream, then sprinkle tomatoes, lettuce, and shredded cheese. If using the food flags, put a small extra scoop of refried beans on top as this will keep your flag upright.
4. Finish by sprinkling green onions and a small dollop of sour cream on top if preferred.
5. Cover your glasses and refrigerate until ready to use.
6. Serve with tortilla chips, salsa, and/or guacamole.
