Jewel Toned Wedding with Pies and Handmade Gorgeousness

With a story that begins in medical school and a request that any marriage proposal happens on a random Tuesday, Ashley and Tim have always made sure their lives together were a reflection of them. When it came to planning their big day, they wanted to create an outdoor garden wedding filled to the brim of their personalities in the region where they have spent most of their relationship. Since tons of the loved ones would be coming from Ohio, Ashley got creative right away with her Cricut machine by crafting up sweet welcome boxes for their guests, rose-inspired wedding invitations, day-of signage of various sizes, and a hanging seating chart tied to a chic gold frame. Basically DIY awesomeness!

The neutral backdrop of the Norfolk Botanical Garden set the perfect tone for Tim and Ashley's navy blue and burgundy red color palette. A wide open outdoor space for their ceremony to an all-white indoor reception gave the lovebirds the opportunities to customize each spot, and their guests didn't have far to walk! Coordinated by Soirees by Lauren and photographed by Caitlin Gerres Photography, we especially loved the oodles of textured flowers that popped against the gray suits and dark blue dresses, gold geometric glass vases to complement the giant golden hoops behind the sweetheart table, and the mini pie bar because the couple doesn't like cake. And heck yes! Why should you have something at your wedding you're not a fan of?! Lead the way, Mr. and Mrs.!
