Editor's Experience: It’s not often you find your soulmate in a hotel. The essence of one, of course. From the warmth and hospitality from its staff to the never-ending upscale rustic decor inspiration to incredible coastal cuisine bespoke to my dietary needs (and there are a lot of them), Hacienda Encantada thought of every single detail to win my foodie and relaxation heart. It overlooks the best oceanviews and invokes Mexican charm that I want to revisit over and over. I was always surprised by how they kept finding ways to make our group fall in love with them more.
Beyond the property is The Golden Zone which is part of the Hacienda Encantada family by the Marina. This collection of restaurants and shopping hotspots meets the needs of any traveler looking for some vacay diversity, but it's Los Deseos that will speak to all authentic Mexican food lovers. Its upcycled decor of stunning glass bottle chandeliers, drippy Spanish-inspired candles, and hanging metalwork is a feast for the eyes in of itself. Prepare for a delicious meal in a candlelit atmosphere as one of the servers comes over to your table to make a three cheese flambé with tequila in a traditional pig-shaped molcajete before you.
Once couples get their fill of freshly made ceviche bites, heading out onto the water is a must. With luxury elegant cruises like the Tu Enamorado from Wild Cabo Tours, the Sea sparkles and charms its visitors, and if you're lucky, you'll find a boatside friend in the form of a humpback or gray whale saying hello with its tail. But if not, sea lions and pelicans will swoop in to make up for their absence against the backdrop of the famous El Arco.
Editor's Experience: When I visited in the month of March, it was Hacienda Encantada's busiest time, but I never once felt like it was crowded because of how spacious the property was -- even with the young kids I saw! As someone who prefers a quiet adults-only resort when she vacations, it was perfectly tranquil and why I found it to be the quintessential honeymoon destination in Cabo. Between the people, the food, and the sights, everything about this place was a soothing balm to the tired mind, body, and spirit.
