Black Tie Elegance with Effortless Joy

From the elegant stone archways at the Chrysler Museum of Art to the shades of periwinkle blue and ivory cream to their chic black tie style, Claire and Joe envisioned an elegant, yet effortless celebration in downtown Norfolk. Inspired by 15th-century Florentine design, the Huber Court at the Museum set the mood for amore with its marble and slate floor pattern and vaulted glass ceiling. The two lovebirds appreciated this architectural space for what it was and loved that they could keep their decor minimal and stately as they said I Do in front of their closest loved ones.

One of Claire's favorite memories of the summer day included her stepdad performing their wedding ceremony, so she shared, "I'm very close with my parents and stepparents, so Joe and I decided that the best way to recognize both of them was for my dad to walk me down the aisle and for my stepdad to officiate the ceremony. It was such a fun detail that made it that much more meaningful to us." And of course, as we live in this wedding world, those kinds of moments always make a wedding the very best.

With floral motifs in their invitations and overall wedding design, gray European château dreams, and joy-filled moments, Molly Lichten Photography captured the big and small details while Carolyn Celeste Weddings ensured everything ran seamlessly for the couple. And if Claire and Joe look familiar to you, it's because we also featured their gorgeous beach engagement session with their golden puppers Gracie rocking a eucalyptus floral collar a couple of years ago! Basically their love of flowers and timeless style gives us the warm fuzzies and happy sighs beyond this feature.
