Dressed in tailored suits in two shades of blue and bespoke accessories in complementary colors (and we especially adore David's bright blue frames to complete his look!), Brandon and David set the tone for effortless elegance in the gardens -- which was even reflected in their menu choices. The grooms' description is enough to make all of us drool over our keyboard!
We wanted our menu to span several palates, but reflect our local region's cuisine. Thus, we incorporated quite a few fish dishes with some meat and vegetarian/vegan items. Because it was an event geared towards walking and interacting, the food choices needed to be vast, mobile, and interesting. One of the central dishes was a whole roasted grouper that was pulled to order and served in a bowl with Pungo sweet corn salsa, chipotle aioli, and avocado. The guests were all very happy with the baby spinach and watermelon salad with blueberries, feta, toasted pecans, and raspberry vinaigrette. Other notables were tandoori chicken skewers, vegetable spring rolls, lump crab with avocado and roasted pepper puree, and Sriracha-seared tenderloin.
One memorable aspect of the day was that "The Art of Burning Man" outdoor exhibit had just opened at the Hermitage, and it made for some gorgeous portraits, but also an unintentional sweet memory as Brandon and David had been to Burning Man only nine months prior. It was pretty much destiny to have their wedding where they had it! With wooden earth tones and surrounding greenery, the pops of rainbow shone as they commemorated their new marriage to one another underneath the shade of a giant magnolia tree and twinkling bistro lights.
